LMI all but dead

Brian Caldwell from CJ announced at Summit today that there will be no end of html links.

ABW no doubt played a huge part in this.

Great, great news! Now I can update my CJ links. I figured my time was better spent on other things.

Thanks for sharing, Scooter!

(Gee, the Mets won, Italy won, affiliate marketers won...it's shaping up to be a pretty terrific day!)

"Now I can update my CJ links."

Still takes extra clicks and extra time to "access" the link.

The Mets won? They must be back to playing the backwater teams in their own division.

Really...?
This isn't a belated April Fools Day joke is it?
If not it's fantastic news!

Now if cj could just make the old html links the default all would be sweet

Still nearly unusable at the moment trying to access html links and having to deal with all the warnings and we want to be able to select multi html links as we had until a few weeks ago.

Glad to see our pressure is starting to show ;0

So it's official? I'm waiting till they put something up at CJ. I want to see it say html links will always be there as an option. Hopefully they put html back as default, takes extra steps to get the html links.

"For a limited time, you may access legacy code for this link by selecting the 'Access Legacy Code' button below."

And to see them change that part when getting links.

Anyone get a picture of all those red & white buttons at the summit? Would be a gorgeous one to share.

As much as I would love the legacy links to be reinstated as the default, I'm not sure I want to tempt fate - their capacity to screw up is as strong as ever...

Wow, Trust. You are expecting communication from CJ? Why don't you go ahead and ask for world peace too

I asked him about fixing it back like it was so we don't have to jump through hoops to get the legacy links and he did not comment on that. In a situation where we have counted our success by baby steps, we made a huge leap today, now I guess we continue baby steps to get the interface back to where it does not try to talk you out of using html links.

I doubt very seriously that CJ will make a formal announcement of this as it would mean that they admit they were wrong to some degree. I don't remember them ever admitting fault for anything and my guess is that they will not start now. But at least they have listened to us. That is a LARGE step in the right direction.

I'm a seeing is believing type of guy. Until I get an email saying that or they post it at CJ that html links will remain, then nothing has changed for me. I don't doubt that's what you been told but it needs to be official. The html links are going to remain as an option or they aren't. If they are going to remain then they need to let everybody know.

In the past CJ has been disingenuous in their ABW posts. Can we trust them and their parent company? Does this Brian Caldwell have the power to enforce this or will he get his hands slapped for this statement?

Woohoo!! That is great news!

As soon as I see it in black and white on the CJ site I will let my full out celebration begin!

Congrats to everyone for putting the pressure on and getting the point across!

Although this is great news, CJ has really taken a hit from this. Just look at all the merchants opening up programs internally or at other networks and look at all the affilaites (including myself) moving my links elsewhere.

The fact is, CJ broke our trust. They broke our confidence. They tried to pull something over on us (we still don't know exactly what) and we stood tall, united and sad "NO!". Congratulations to all of you who spoke up and stood firm. We are the affilate marketers, not CJ, we know how we make our money, not CJ, we know when somethng is not right, not CJ, and we know we can now unite and make changes in the future. This is a great day. Thanks everyone!!!

I doubt those at VC pulling the strings on CJ's puppet got more pressure from ABWers then all the bloggers. Good to see my CJ links stay as I only put up 2 sets of java script links to test them on actual page load times. Good news all around and hopefully CJ's management will fight any stupid VC ideas to revise their original mission plan.
