I thought it would have been art.com that did it, but CafePress stepped up and bought Imagekind. I don't know what CP's plans are, but I strongly suspect they're going to fold IK's assets into the CP brand and kill off the existing IK brand. Where that leaves their affiliate program is anyone's guess... but I suspect they'll try to fold it into their own CJ program or just shut it down. Time will tell.

Bad news for New Yorkers again. Thanks CP.

Yeah, I didn't consider that angle. Whatever happens to the IK affiliate program, New Yorkers will probably be kicked out of it.

I also posted in the other thread wondering if they would kick out NY affiliates. My guess is yes they'll kick us out whether they roll the programs together or not.

If they stay separate they have no reason to kick out NY affiliates. I didn't know this was in the works. I suspect that they will be doing what Hectic speculates. I'll be closing a lot of my IK galleries and I will concentrate on my new projects, which I won't discuss in this thread.

The next couple weeks are going to be even busier than I expected them to be.

Maybe on paper they don't have a reason...

I suspect though that a company such as CP would want to make as much of their policy "company wide" as possible, even if it is technically 2 separate entities.

Clearly though, they've done nothing of yet, so it's mere specualtion.

There goes two of my websites. Time to look for new art merchants to promote.

From an affiliate program perspective, CafePress and Imagekind will remain separate and run independently of each other. Plans for integrating the two programs are TBD and frankly I don't expect anything to happen for the remainder of 2008.
