Okay... I'm fed up with my current host (which I am not even including in this poll), and I'm looking for a new one. I've read around different threads (mainly in this section of ABW), and compiled a list of 21 hosting service companies. Would appreciate your vote. Multiple voting allowed. So, if you think that a couple, or several hosts are equally good, please select all of the ones you've had a good experience with, and only then hit the "vote now" button.

I need it for a multidomain hosting (a CPanel, and a generous bandwidth would be a plus).

Many thanks in advance for your votes, everyone, and if I have not included your favorite host in this poll, please post its name in the thread.

Thanks again,

Geno

Slight caveat. I voted for 1&1 because they are nice for cheap servers if you are technically inclined and want to administer your own box. For most people, I'd stick with BlueHost, HostMonster, or HostGator.

I'm using three servers on phpwebhosting.com. don't know really how much volume before they get concerned, but uptime is good. no cpanel.

I've got a VPS with a couple of dozen domains with KnownHost. Everything works well, no downtime -- or very rarely, and not in recent weeks -- and a nice price. Very happy with their fast support.

I have used a number of hosts over the years, by FAR, my choice is HostGator! I'll never move from them.

Out of the three I am using now HostGator is great.

Kristin (Mad Hatter) is working with ThinkHost.com and they looks like they have a fantastic deal along with being a Green company!

I haven't used them yet, but when my ResellerZoom account expires I will be checking out ThinkHost.
I'm sure kristin can answer more questions if you have them.

If I were to stop having my own server, I would go look at ThinkHost first.

How long does it take for hosting to be worth it? I know Rome was not built on one day but still when is enough is enough.

Thank you Geno for starting this Thread. I am finally fed up with our host as well, as it keeps going down. That's one of the main reason our #'s are down, because our customers are getting frustrated.

If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know as well.

Our Requirements are:

ASP
PHP (4 or 5)
PHP FSOCKOPEN () should be activated
MYSQL
High Band Spped
Multi Domain Hosting
Descent FTP access

Thank you all for voting & I look forward to all your response.

Their Green approach. I'm just now starting to promote them on my ecology site - and this is one of the few hosting venues I'd gladly promote for free.

I voted for Hostican. Pretty small company still. But someone suggested them to me, and I set-up my wife's blog there. No complaints, and in fact I'll report that they have outstanding service and tools..

I'll make you a deal. At $29.95/mo based on a year purchase I will commission you $350. In exchange you test the Premium Hosting Account at Register.com. If you are not satisfied at any time during the first year you can apply for a refund and I will let the $350 commission stand! If interested email me at chamrick@affiliatecrew and I will send a feature list.

Like others have stated, Host Gator is one of the best. I switched to them awhile back because I was fed up with my previous host as well. The amount of downtime and support was just pathetic to say the least. Since I have switched, Host Gator has never been down, speed is fast, and the support is by far the best I've dealt with concerning hosting.

Geno - I've always believed in keeping the hosting spread around a bit. Even a great host can have a datacenter problem. I have used several hosts over the years but have settled on Servint and Hostgator. I have two VPS units at Servint and have my largest and oldest sites there. Their uptime and support are exemplary. I also have two reseller accounts at Hostgator - not to resell, but to use for multiple domains/sites.

Stay far away (far away) from Vox. I had been at Voxtreme for too long - and am finally moving my last sites from them.
