As the legislative sessions loom in the near future it is important for merchants to look for real solutions to nexus issues. I mentioned this in another thread but am posting it here for all to see.
While at SAS Think Tank I had the opportunity to meet with John Perri of Avalara. Avalara is a full service sales tax management company. While at Think Tank I was impressed with what Avalara had to offer. I followed up with them last week and you can read the short Q & A with John at Affiliate Advocacy http://affiliateadvocacy.com/2009/sa...for-merchants/ I urge all merchants to take some time to see if Avalara ( http://avalara.com/ ) has the solution to their tax compliance challenges.

You really have two choices: Either pay the sales tax or live in what amounts to Darfur. You can't live in modern community without an infrastructure and the best way to pay for it is have NO FREE RIDERS.
