Possibly a silly question, but not been so clued in with phones, if you buy an HTC from Cell Country and have it shipped overseas will it work fine with a local sim card or are the phones restricted to the US?

Got my eye on a new HTC :-)

If the phone is unlocked it'll work anywhere with any carrier (provided it's a GSM phone). It'll say if it's unlocked under Carrier in the phone description. Otherwise, the phone will be locked to whatever carrier is specified.

However, if you really want a particular phone and it's at the right price and you're feeling adventurous or rebellious a bit of Googling will usually provide the methods for unlocking any phone.
