Judi,
There's a house up the street from me for sale. Want me to grab a flier and send to you? Seriously, it's a sad day when affiliates need to pack up and move to other states (or merchants even suggest it). Pretty soon there will be no states to move to.

Bimini, by all means is a better place to survive a winter if it has to be somewhere away from Arkansas.

There's a house up the street from me for sale as well. No signs here yet of any advertising tax & the political climate isn't favorable for any either.
It is indeed a sad day the number of states who seem bound and determine to pass laws they know are unconstitutional. It's also sad the number of merchants behind this push, who are willing to use affiliates as pawns and then then welcome those same affiliates with open arms when they get terminated.

Seriously considered the Cayman Islands for a while. Just hang out with all the big domain name owners.
Then tsunamis come into the news and I feel better about being in Colorado. Better to fight City Hall...

Nurses Station
Dr. Leonard's /Carol Wright Although in both cases it was not clear as to reason. Neither one mentioned sales tax, legislation, or AR. Could be that it's just my day in the chute. |

Recently have been removed from several programs apparently for this same reason. Namely Scrubs, Amerimark, and Online Shoes amongst others.

ThinkGeek email came today.
It was addressed to Arkansas and South Dakota residents. South Dakota, too? |

CSN stores.... I was expecting that one - they're usually first in the affected states.

Hi, Do you think Amazon will be affected by this new law? I haven't been notified by them yet.
Thanks, Tom |

Yes, they'll be notifying us any day now. They are the reason this rolling disaster has the nickname "The Amazon Tax".

Geeks.com
and while researching Dick Blick for ThinkTank, it appears they will also be dropping me. The terms aren't entirely clear - I think I'm supposed to research and see if they have a store in AR... waiting for an email reply there, but if it's true, that will be a bite bigger than Amazon for me. crap. |

I wonder what would happen if affiliates started driving all their traffic to Canadian retailers. Now that would be a shift. From a macro level, state policies impacting evolution of the Canadian ecommerce industry. I know I'm dreaming, but you never know, eh?

I got this one too and wondered if they know that I'm not in Arkansas. Looks like they sent it to everyone.

What are you all planning on doing? I'm in North Carolina and the same nonsense has already hit us. You would think states would figure out after it happened with us that they're not going to get anything from this new tax and that they'll lose all of the income tax it was generating.

OR If U.S.A. retailers became Canadian retailers... |
