I spent the day dealing with the most invasive spyware program that I have seen. Got an e-mail through my site, which read simply, "nice site". From that e-mail I received an
unexpected surprise, SPYDAWN. This program leaves a flasing icon in your toolbar and produces a pop-up every 5 minutes, or so. The pop-up tells that Spydawn has found spyware on your computer and they have the cure. A $50 cure for the crap that they covertly installed. Spydawn pretends to be a spyware removal tool. I ran my spyware program (adaware) but no luck dumping the beast. Then I tried Netscape's spy removal program. Netscape found and scanned far files more than did adaware , and it did find and remove SPYDAWN. Also, please be aware that Spydawn also engages in PHISHING!

Try that M$ one...Windows Defender. It's saved me from a couple of things. Maybe they'll have better luck with the spydawn.
