I may be telling you something you already know but with Firefox at the end of the tool bar there is a "density" tab, click on this and you get loads of info relating to the density of the page you are currently viewing.

Useful for anyone hung up over the density issue.

SEO Quake was something to use 10 years ago, today it is not a good tool and the gugel specifically recommends not to use it. If I get time I will look up the quote, I believe it was from Matt Cutts' blog.

Keyword Density has to do with making sure your static pages and blog posts have a good ratio of content to keywords. For instance, if you were writing a blog posts about common diseases in Golden Retrievers, you would want to first, identify what keywords you believe describe your content well and that you would like to rank for, and second, make sure that you insert those keywords regularly in your post content.

Keyword density is more important for any article, that should be 3 to 5% in 100 words...

The keyword density should always be under 4%. Many SEO experts will tell you that.

To any newbies out there who stumble upon threads like this with "expert advice".... don't listen to any SEO BS about keyword density. There are a million "experts" who give advice based on 10-years-obsolete techniques and popular myths/conjecture. The handful of SEO's who do it for a living do not even THINK in terms of keyword density and don't waste a minute of their time "checking" density ratios.

As long as keywords appear in your page in ways that are natural and sensible, that's all that matters. Spend your time working on ranking factors that really matter and stop stressing over stupid bullshyte like this.

What davidh said. I've even seen people who should know better ( vinny - have to tease him about that) post stuff like that. It's ridiculous. I expect some advice on keyword tags next (Google doesn't even use them in ranking btw)

I have one of my super niche sites, where the kw density on my home page is probably 10% and I rank #1 in both Yahoo and Google for my targeted term. Keyword density never even crossed my mind.

So when you see stuff like that posted, challenge it. The way the internet works is people see stuff that isn't challenged, they figure it must be true, then proceed to further perpetuate bs.
