Thank you.
There are plenty of free business directories sites are available to submit your site and word press is the best way for blogging because many plug-ins and features are available for it.

Definitely WordPress, the community behind WordPress constantly develops anything you might need. Themes you may want to use or even more abundant so you definitely won't be missing anything if you go with WordPress

My question has been answered this week, and how! G closed down one of my Blogger sites accusing me of spamming which couldn't be further from the truth.

I have appealed and await their decision. One thing it has prompted me to do is to back up all the valuable content I have on my other Blogger sites so if any of those are closed down at least I have the content to use elsewhere.

I am sorry to hear that this happened to you, Daiarian I hope you were able to create a back up of your files before Google closed your site.

Yes, it would be a good idea to back up your web files. Not just your Blogger sites but all your other sites as well.

daiarian,

I created 2 blogs with Blogger and would FTP the blog posts
to my host/domain.
You might want to read my thread, "Blogger removed entry because of court order"
Blogger removed entry because of court order

A court case decided in the Supreme Court of England & Wales affected my blog.
I received some weird email and decided to be low profile.

I'm redoing my sites and will put blogs on WordPress soon.

I have tried about a dozen blog CMS, Wordpress is by far the best of all, huge number of free plugins, easy to customize. I have converted wordpress on some sites to comparison shopping :P

Thanks but I am also confused as to how Blogger was able to access a posting on a third party hosted site surely they would have had to seek permission first from your host.

In order to use Blogger and to post the information onto my own paid hosting I had to give Blogger all my passwords.
Blogger had the passwords and was able to delete files from my host because they had the passwords: no permission from my main host was necessary.
It's like giving the keys to Blogger.
That's what happened & it's a true story.
I don't live in your country, but a court case decided in your country had an impact on what I was able to write online.

Then don't use Blogger Rhia7. Change to a different platform.

Third party services have always scared me... even a site hosted by Wordpress.com is subject to terms & conditions. And when they have your database, they have your content.

I know this has been discussed before, but Wordpress is now a one-click install with most hosting platforms - $10/mo and you have your own name, host & database.

Rhia, I remember your experience well, I hope you were able to recover the content!
Thanks From:

Thanks, teezone.
My previous blogs were created with Blogger but hosted on independent paid hosting.
That experience was a mix: some of it was amusing but some of the attention I received was unwanted. I kept a low profile and didn't blog at all for a while.

I don't need my previous writings. I intend to start anew

What a horror story it certainly has set me thinking about what I will do in future on Blogger.

Thanks for the insight.

I like Wordpress. It has a ton of neat plugins that you can install to optimize SEO, track stats, add a Facebook like button and more. I found a plugin that automatically generates blogs for clickbank products. You can see what the blog looks like [removed link]

WordPress is one of the better resources out there for blogging and for building a simple website. It is very quick to set up, and user friendly; not only for you building the site, but also for your users when they come to the site. WordPress comes highly recommended.
