Quick Question:

I see that there are many experienced and savvy people on here, I have my ideas about this but wanted to ask...

if you had a marketing budget 10K to drive as much targeted high conversion traffic to your website as you could, how would you spend it? Name of the game is also to get as many conversions as you can in two months for a B2B website with sensational content.

Seo= clearly out of the questions (takes too long).

What would you do?

Nothing beats quality content. Period. I know it can be slow, but you do not build your reputation overnight. Also, I can tell you what I would not do. I would never buy back links. Google frowns upon them. Just in case you did not know.

Agree with Haiko but do not do this from scratch unless you are running several $K a month through AdSense already. Good way to watch your money burn up ASAP. Hire an agency with a proven track record to build out your campaign. At $10k you can give them two months to setup and run then take over yourself.

Thanks for your replies. I agree about the content. I really believe this is the ENTIRE, NUMBER ONE, ONLY reason for having a site. (If you have nothing of value to communicate, why are you talking) I think if you think about the value you can deliver, the money will come.


I also agree about hiring pros for building out the PPC campaign.

I think you are a bit naive splashing out $10k in this manner, you say you have "sensational content" is this your opinion or have you conducted market research that backs this claim.

I have over 120,000 pages of content.

I have over $5 million worth of free research you can download (slowly being added and loaded to the site) so yes thanks for your comment about being naive.

I really think the next two months will be about very very targeted traffic - using networks, blogs and linkedin advertising targeted toward industry and job title.

I think you'll be surprised how quickly $10K can go in the online marketing world. Be sure to do your research and figure out the best approach and way to market your product. I've heard that [removed] can be a great resource for knowledge and expertise in this field.
