Should be temporary, since under Deactivated Advertisers it says active. Those merchants usually come right back after they clear up whatever needs clearing up. If it ever says expired, then the merchant is gone for good from the network.

It's not so much the conversion rates, etc, as it is the lack of communication. As a guy who runs a fairly popular fishing site, you would think they'd return my emails.

Doesn't really matter to me anymore, as they dumped NY affiliates (despite having stores here). I wasn't using that as part of my judgement though. Business decisions are one thing. Poor communication to highly targeted sites is quite another.

My alternative is Gander Mountain, who unfortunately only operates through GAN. I will, however, be incorporating them into my site more and more.

I've never really had to communicate with them other than once about three years ago. I just put up the links and enjoy the commission checks.

Just in:

Dear Affiliates,
Please note that the Bass Pro Shops Affiliate Program is indeed active in the Commission Junction Network. Please disregard any earlier messaging regarding this. Thanks for your continued promotion of BassPro.com!

Received a reactivated email a bit ago.

I also have had some issues with no replies to emails, usually asking about product information. But overall seems a good program.

Doesn't that mean they have to collect sales tax in NY for online purchases without regard to an affiliate program? I mean that sounds like a nexus to me!

Apparently, they incorporated the web site separately.

Edit: Yup: Just went most of the way through the check out process. No sales tax.
