I don't normally pay much attention to CJ's "deactivated advertiser" notices, since they almost always refer to advertisers with whom I have no active relationship. But today I clicked through to check, and was surprised to see that EIGHT of my "former advertisers" (merchant partners) were de-activated on the same day (Nov. 26), which is more than on any other single day I can recall. I assume that it is not a coincidence that this occurred on the day before "Cyber Monday."

These are the eight advertisers listed as deactivated on Sunday, Nov. 26 (note that this includes only advertisers whose programs I had once applied to join - probably there are more whose programs I never joined).

That is kind of scary that they deactivated 8 or the 8 advertisers deactivated on the same day.

Add TimetoSpa to the list.

What do you think happened with WickedCoolStuff? They always performed well during the holiday season in the past.

WickedCool's page still lists CJ as the affiliate 3rd party.

Prime Wine is on the list also, which surprises me.

I have three that deactivated today, all showing as "active." I'm guessing that they didn't pay their bill on time and CJ put 'em in the corner.

Just got an email from them saying they were reactivated. Looks like someone fell asleep at the wheel there. Today wasn't the day to do that though

I can never figure out why we get deactivation notices if the merchant is still "active." I was assuming it was a personal thang ...

everything has to be translated from there.

In this case, I take "active" to mean we were still signed up with them at the time they flopped.

TimetoSpa is not on my "deactivated advertisers" list. But all the links are not working.

Wonder what is going on...

Every month, at this time of the month, there are a bunch of deactivations. I'm guessing it is related to the billing cycle, and bills not paid.

I am noticing the same thing with other advertisers. In the past 3 months, 11 advertisers we promoted are now gone. Yet "replacements" have not shown up (like they used to do).

Has me a bit concerned.

I just received an e-mail from Brett Dewey saying that there was difficulty in replenishing the account due to the massive amount of traffic received during this past weekend. CJ temporarily shut the business down but WickedCoolStuff is up and running again

I'd like to thank Brett for answering my question promptly.

Many deactivated merchants get reactivated soon after. There should be some kind of notice sent out to that effect. Not a hard thing to do but would be really useful to know.

Great, I wish I had known before, I just deleted about 30 merchants and their links who have been deactivated in the last week or so...

Not all of them have come back. Just checked Countdown Creations and its links aren't working. I'm sure if I take em off the site....they'll come back.

Got an apology email from RedWagon for having deactivated me the other day...but never even knew it had happened...never got an email telling me it had been. lol

Same here. It's funny.

But I do expect other apology emails coming soon before I start to take their links down tho.

Me too lol. They no longer get much space from me. It seems like every so often they go off. This is the first time I recall getting an email saying sorry & they're back.

yeap, is funny lol Ones we don't know have been deactivated we don't get notified about and others who weren't we get apologies. They never got too much space either cos they really didn't have that big of selection compared to others....wasn't aware they've been off before..guess will have to keep a better eye on them.. I'm such a softie tho lol An apology especially for something that wasn't their fault...scores brownie points for them. lol Depend on this place just to find the status of the sites now.

atonca - lol I know I've said this before...but I love your avatar. lol Can't help it...no matter how many times I see yours or nakedgamer I can't help but giggle Whenever I need a smile I can count on coming here and getting one. and yeap....I'll probably say it again a few months from now. lol
