When I try Product Search for product links, I keep getting this:
Quote:
There was an error processing your request.
The incident has been logged and we are working to correct the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Click here return to the Commission Junction Account Manager.

I've tried a few different searches for 3 different merchants, with the same result.

Affiliate Hound, CJ was informed that I would want to create specific product links today so the capability was blocked. Why make things easy when you can make things difficult -- that's the CJ way
I just tried and received the message:

Ditto.
Its now well over 3 hours since I first tried to get links. I doubt that it will be working before tomorrow.

I'm still getting the error as well, but was able to get around it by using the "Destination URL" field that's available in most text links. Click all the way through the "Get HTML" button and look for the Destination URL field. Go out to the merchants site, find the product you want, and then paste the url into this field. Click "Update Link Code" and it will give you a text link that points to that product's landing page.
I actually prefer this method from here on out, because CJ's product search is so dang slow. This way I can quickly find what I want from a given merchant, and quickly build a link that points there.

Rick, I tried your method and it works for text, but can it work for a picture product link? [Any tips for that?]
Thanks for your instructions. I'll keep the text idea in mind for future reference!

Sure thing Rhia,
Once you have generated the text link, you can convert it to an image link by putting the img tag in place of the text part of the link, like this:
1. Visit the merchant's product page and get the url of the product image (Internet Explorer: right-click on the image and select Properties. Firefox: right-click and select Copy Image Location).
2. Create an img tag using the newly acquired image url in the src=" " attribute:
<img src="http://www.merchant-site.com/image-url.jpg" border="0" />
3. Wrap the img tag with the text link's anchor tag, replacing the text with the img tag:
<a href="http://www.************/click-XXXXXX-XXXXXX" target="_blank">
<img src="http://www.merchant-site.com/image-url.jpg" border="0" /></a>
4. Make sure to also add the tracking image link, so the end result will look like this:
Code:

That's all there is to it
