Yes, it has been a little ON and OFF today. But the reporting was pretty much caught up last time I checked. They seem to be certainly having some server/network issues and some delayed reporting. Hope they sort the issues out soon

Time and again, CJ has shown it was merely a reporting DELAY .. that catches up eventually

When you have a lot of money tied up in this you think things like "there's always a first time". Also, if CJ would at the VERY LEAST acknowledge something was wrong with a simple message and reassure everyone that things are still tracking then there wouldn't be so much panic. With a network of this size people expect some notice as a matter of course, it's not just professional, it's a professional courtesy. If they can't do that then what are we to think? We think the worst, naturally.
Here's what I think.
I can tell you, as someone who has been in the web business since the mid-90's, that it's very easy, when one of your reporting servers is down, to redirect traffic to an active server with a simple page saying so, rather than letting the server just time out on everyone. In fact, it's in your best interests to do so, just to take the load off the servers.
I think their server admins are incompetent if they can't redirect traffic to a simple "Technical Difficulties" page AND can't figure out how to keep their servers up. Their DBA's are incompetent if they can't figure out how to smoothly synchronize data between machines without bringing things down. CJ is one of the biggest and most profitable networks out there and they can't spend money on quality tech staff, equipment, etc? Ugh.
At one point I considered that they might be under attack but I've rejected that theory. If they were then they would have tracking problems too, which they apparently don't.
Whatever the reason, they obviously have deeply serious problems and both investors and affiliates have very good reason to be wary.

Mr_C, I am no way condoning CJ's slippery track with reporting servers. They have issues to be addressed in that arena for sure.
However, panicking whenever the reports are delayed by an hour or two and filling up this thread does not address the CJ issues.
I think one should be patient and trust in CJ based on years of no issues with tracking servers. Heck - in the Worst case, if CJ tracking is down for a few hours in a year, I am going to write off that loss as part of doing business (similar to how I write off uncollected commissions from some merchants in most networks). At least on one occasion when CJ had real tracking issues, they did fairly compensate affiliates if my recollection of that incident was right?. Makes me feel somewhat comforting ...
I'd rather spend time focusing on my sites and their availability than worrying about CJ's tracking servers. Of course, you are free to focus on whatever you deem is right for you.

Last time was something like a week, wasn't it? And that it was Xmas is no excuse.

You're right, it's just the cost of doing business, write it off as a loss. It's all about risk management or cost/benefit.
I just like it when companies are run properly and well, have good numbers, management, accounting and operations, and which I would gladly invest in. To me CJ is a necessary evil. I'll continue to hold my nose while I do business with them, if you don't mind. Just venting my distaste is all.

I don't think anyone is panicking about CJ being down (except maybe during that multi-day outage during Christmas). Maybe this thread might appear "panicky" since it was started during that "record" outage. I'm personally for a new " cj down" thread at each instance (outage lasting 2+ hours ?....). It's recomforting to know that others are experiencing that same issue (since communication is not a CJ "forte") ...
Mr_C appear to have a valid point. Being from the IT world since...a long time.... It appears strange that a company with the resources of CJ does not have a handle on its systems at these basic levels. The outages seems to be recurring (monthly+?) and based on very predictable load. These issues are commonly addressed in the IT world, by both, known DB architectures and server availability structures.
I'm not sure this means that some employees are incompetent (I personally doubt it). It is more likely that management is not allocating the appropriate resources. This is not uncommon when a company is looking to be purchased...

Same old CJ. Yes I can't access CJ either.
I guess we should expect them to be down 2 to 2 times a day.

The connection has timed out
The server at members. cj.com is taking too long to respond.

Having trouble logging in and running the reports. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't.

Same here.
I've been logged "in" and "out" almost all day. In the past hour, I was completely out.
Desperately need to update some links due to my hosting crisis in the past three days...now I'm stucked again...
What a start of a new year! Maybe it is a sign for me to quit working and go for a big vacation...

Nabz,
Do you really think it's all our network cables and firewalls or is it a CJ problem as usual.
That sounds like the usual type of answer CJ usually responds with. I was hoping for better on this forum.

Is everyone's reporting normal today, that is when you do get logged in do you see sales as you expect?
I noticed some performance reports have remained unchanged all day.

Still at 5 clicks and 60 impressions here. Of course that's what it said when I logged into CJ early this morning too.
Tracking is not affected as usual I'm sure...

Comming up on 24 hours straight with the same stats. No sales showing up either. Guess it's time to pause the campaigns.

He was just quoting the error message which comes up when you try to access their webpage.
Think before you post.
