I have a site that ranks extremely well in a category right in line with HD, yet they have refused my application multiple times.
So why is the CJ Wire urging me to apply again? Is The Home Depot now accepting more affiliates?

They refused me a few times then out of the blue one day they sent me an offer. I don't do much with them.

If they sent you an email its meaningless they send them to whole lists of people but the merchant still picks and chooses who they let in after people apply. I consider this deceptive
If, on the other hand, they send u an email and when you go to your account there is an offer in your pending 'box'. That is a real offer that you can either accept of deny.

So does anyone have a real handle on exactly why they reject so many people..
and I'm not just talking about Home Depot..but I also get rejected by some of these
merchants. Since these decisions are made pretty quickly, I'm assuming that something
in my CJ profile is "ticking them off". Perhaps my country? Anyone?

My guess would be your EPC. I wonder if merchants do an auto-reject if your EPC isn't high enough.

What's your country. Saw the other thread, Jamaica? That could be it. It shouldn't be but some people don't understand the whole world wide web thing and you can be in one country and make sites that target the merchant's demographic.

Step lightly. They are also trigger-happy on the terminate button once you have been approved. They're used to heavy-hitters that can deliver many thousands of visitors a day.

The commissions are very good, if you can get in, it is worth a try.

maybe they choose to partner only with those who has heavy traffic and sales so whatever shenanigans they are doing won't be noticed.

It's been a while since I've seen the CJ merchant interface, but this wasn't an option last time I saw it and I doubt that it's something CJ would add.

Have you emailed them telling them that? I do pretty good with them but don't send them a whole lot of sales so I don't think it's they only want big affiliates.

Home Depot was recently slammed on the MSN finance channel for their horrible customer service - to the tune of some 10,000 blog posts. The CEO even wrote an apology for their crappy service. They could be trying to mend their horrible image by reaching out online and becoming more active with affiliates.
