What would happen, if a merchant is his own affiliate and redirects all our clicks to his own affiliate website, from which the customers purchase.
Who will get the revenue?

Thats why we call them DUPERS. They dupe affiliates into believing they are merchants, not competing affiliates.

Mike & Charlie ...

If they won't adopt and feed a bird ..flip them one! BBQ some Gator and remember to flush WhenU..

Is this legal?
Is this ethical correct?
Is this against the COC?
Did anybody here experience that ?
Todd once posted, that a merchant beeing his own affiliate is not against TOS.

Yes

Probably depends on who you ask. IMO, it is foolish for affiliates to participate in such programs when they can be sending the traffic to the final 'real' merchant themselves and earning more money.

No, the COC has nothing to do with this type of activity. Just applies to affiliates who use software applications.

I've seen in many times. But I don't tend to join those types of programs.

B, you've seen this? I've never heard of this before.

I think Wh*nu owns a bunch of Inkjet domains and I think a couple of Inkjet aff programs. I wonder if that's what they are up to?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding carneol's question?
Are you talking about them having an affiliate program and then their links go through to other merchant's via their own affiliate links or to their own products through their own affiliate links? I was thinking of the first situation and that's usually pretty obvious if you look at the site closely. The second I haven't seen and seems would throw a huge red flag to the networks because all sales would be going to on affiliate for a particular merchant.

Linda as far as what you mentioned regarding Whenu. They have a few domains like that for various products. The domains with them I've seen live are co-branded stores. I've seen them pop up a competitor on their own cobranded site. There was a floral site like that I posted awhile back about. Can't remember the floral merchant offhand. It should be in the Whenu forum.

PS Carneol...what exactly are you asking me to join????

The merchant's affiliate link would be the last tracked link .. so they'd get the credit.

Ms B,
more than a year ago I asked Todd if it is according to the TOS if a merchant joins his own affiliate program. He said, that this is according to the TOS. My question is: if a customer clicks through my links to a website of the merchant, but the website he arrives is not the merchants store site, but his affiliate site, and then is redirected to the merchants store site. Who will be credited? And if you have seen this, please tell us where and how we can find out that this is the case.

Carneol you got it right. What i meant by "wrong forum" is i made a post unrelated to this thread because i thought i was in Midnight Cafe when in fact i was in the CJ forum. I will blame that on lack of food
