I got this email from them today:

Affiliates,

There may have been illegal and unauthorized access to some customer account information on 6pm.com and Zappos.com.

THE BETTER NEWS:

The database that stores critical credit card and other payment data was NOT affected or accessed.

SECURITY PRECAUTIONS:

For the protection of our customers and to prevent unauthorized access, we have temporarily disabled traffic coming from servers located outside of the United States. A few affiliates are using server proxies to continue sending traffic to our websites. In the meantime, if you want to give me your server IP's address, we can "whitelist" that address to make sure your traffic is not affected by our security measures. We will send out notice with any relevant updates as they come.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope to have internationally based servers up and going soon.

You can read our CEO's blog posting for more information: Security Email | Zappos.com

If you have any questions or concerns please contact associates@zappos.com

Thanks,

Zappos Affiliate Team

It should be your IP, but that too will do you no good if your IP is dynamic.

Yeah, that is what I thought also but I think the email msg is a bit strange though:
"In the meantime, if you want to give me your server IP's address, we can "whitelist" that address to make sure your traffic is not affected by our security measures."

By the way, they seems to have a lot to do these days. Check their twitter service: https://twitter.com/zappos_service

Maybe they are talking about; if your website is hosted out of U.S? But that too shouldn't effect anything if the user is from U.S.
What I think is, its for those who are hotlinking images directly from Zappos.com and the website is hosted out of U.S. In that case websites will show broken images.
