I have concerns about what they will offer as compensation.

Starting September 15th, we will have a pixel blackout that could last as long as three full days that will affect all Zappos Marketing channels including this Commission Junction channel. Without the pixel properly firing and sending data back to Commission Junction, we will be able to track clicks but not sales during this time period. We ask that you continue to send traffic to Zappos during this time as you normally would and we'll work with CJ to estimate and process the appropriate compensation for each affiliate.

Changing hundreds of links for 3 days is not an option for me. So I will have to rely on compensation, whatever they will offer

think longer term - what about cookie sales - about 50% of my sales are returning shoppers - they click, look and come back a few days later. not to even mention the "amazon" thing - you know that commission structure........the future does not look bright and cheery, I am afraid.

I have suffered from merchants changing the site, cart or Thank You page thus killing the pixel. We then go back through the click data and estimate the sale, finally paying via a manual bonus. For CJ this is coordinated with tech (after the fact).

I have never in my 12 year career in online marketing seen a merchant tell you the pixel will be removed in advance.

What does this mean for affiliates? First, the good: Better selection, deeper inventory will mean higher conversion rates and higher average order values. The not so good: In order to active the integrated warehouse system, we will need a few days to get everything in order on our backend. Also, with a project this large, there is bound to be various glitches that occur along the way with the website's operation that could affect affiliates weeks and months down the line. We ask that you report anything to us that looks suspicious so we can identify and correct problems quickly.

It's now the 15th and I'm getting clicks with no sales like they said I would. Not sure if their website will change but it looks no different at the moment.

Sales are still posting for me this morning. In the past (one tracking outage at 6pm that I can remember) they paid a bonus based on click volume and your historical EPC.

Kudos to Zappos for being upfront and I believe they will make good on their compensation offer. Hopefully all the bugs are taken care of in advance of Q4 and OAV really does go up due to the changeover.

I just recently left Commission Junction and moved over to managing my own affiliate program with SavingStar, Inc. but saw this post and had to reply. I worked at CJ for almost 4 years and affiliates should rest assure that they will definitely work hard and make sure that you are compensated during the blackout. In my experience the teams there are fantastic plus Network Quality has a great way of figuring out what you may have lost during those 3 days.

No worries at all when working on the CJ platform!

3 Days according to them. So expect up to 72 hours.

Last sale posted in the 1300 hour yesterday, been dark since then. Sucks since I like to keep pulse on how the day is going by hitting refresh on the transaction report each hour.

No wonder sales were down for these merchants although sales were posted on 15th, 17th (posted on 18th), 18th but not 16th.

No, I haven't received any notification about the bonus.

I feel Zappos is no longer interested in paying compensation to its affiliates as its been 10 weeks, but keeping in mind the reputation of Zappos we should not draw conclusions. I have sent an email to them, lets say what they have to say.
