Hi Brent,

I just discovered a big bug on the The Wall Art Store (11035-112.txt) datafeed.

Since I haven't had any problen with the The Wall Art Store (11035-112.txt) datafeed, and since everything is showing fine on my site, I haven't notice the big bad error on the size of that (11035-112.txt) datafeed, until now.

The datafeed for The Wall Art Store (11035-112.txt) only have 10,012 Products, but the size of the feed is a super mega size of 250,661,697

I have been getting the 11035-112.txt automatically with my cron script for a long time, but last night while I was doing some manual work on cpanel, I noticed the extra big size of that feed.

(Now I know why I was not getting an email from the server, about the table update for that feed.)

I did some digging on my HD, and I found an old 2007-11-08 copy of the The Wall Art Store (11035-112.txt) datafeed, that old feed was just 13,202KB and it had 10,496 Products on it.

I don't know how or exactly when, that datafeed got pregnant, but it sure would need an emergency C-section, ASAP.

Btw, I would have open the feed on my HD before I made this post to see what's making that feed so big, but since I can't open a 250+MB datafeed on my computer, I had to make this post.

Hi Mr. Sal,

The wall art feed has been changed to only include 1,473 products. These are our best selling pieces of wall art since the store opened up. I am working on getting that number up to 5,000-7,000, but am having trouble doing this through my feed tool right now.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Brent

p.s. I had the spelling error on that banner fixed. Thanks.

Hi Brent,

Yesterday I checked the new feed on the SAS server a couple of times, and I saw that the file size was smaller, but when I opened the feed I notice that it only had 1,473 products, so I didn't upload that one to my site, since I thought that you might be working on it, and I wanted to wait for your imput first.

Well, now I have a new question for you.

On my site I have 10,012 Products on my table now, and I believe that all those 10,012 Product links will continue to land on the The wall art merchant store for now, so...

Since you say that you're still working on that feed in order to get it up to 5,000-7,000 products, I wonder if it would be ok for me to not update my table with that new feed for awhile, and just leave the old one there the way it's now on my site?

If I update my site with the new feed now, I will lose over 8k product links and I'm afraid of getting over 8k 404's pages on the SE's at this time of the year.

So unless you tell me that I need to update my site with the new feed because many of those other over 8k products won't be available on the merchant site, or that the product prices on the new feed have changed that much, then I think it would be a good idea to leave my table just the way it's for now, and keep showing those 10,012 Products.

Thanks.

Hey Mr. Sal,

The 10,000 products that are on your site are fine. They did not go anywhere. We just uploaded 100,000 new products into our wall art store. They were put in our feed immediately because, evidently, they fell under the restrictions that I put on the products that go into the wall art feed. I tried to set the feed up to not show products that we have never sold. I'm working with my tech team to fix that, and list just the products that were previously in the feed. I will post here when it is all set.

Thanks,

Brent
