I recieved and email today from an affiliate in the Half Price Banners Program, and I want to publically clarify,

Yes - Ebates is showing an ad when you do a Goog search on the term "halfpricebanners.com coupons"
NO - they are not an affiliate
NO - there is NOT any coupon or any other mention of Half Price Banners in their site
NO - there is not even a competitor of Half Price Banners in their site
I can not get them to stop bidding, from what I can tell they are doing broad/standard match bidding on the terms Half and Coupon, thus our brand name gets their ad pulled

But I really want to make it clear - THEY ARE NOT in any of my programs.....

Hi Rolet,

Have you asked eBates to add "halfpricebanners" as a negative exact match in their PPC campaign? I've had luck using this request for people bidding on our brand terms. It might be worth a shot.

Ebates is probably the biggest bully in affiliate marketing when it comes to bidding on merchant names for merchants that they are not affiliated with. Unless you are prepared to sue them, I would recommend no more communication with them. Your problems with them will only get worse.

Any SAS merchant is automatically protected against Ebates signing up through the SAS network since Ebates is not a SAS affiliate due to the fact that Ebates employs a download.

They also broad match the term coupons and show up for just about everyone in the world. They are no longer in any programs I manage, but they will show up in the PPC results.

I do not plan on contacting them, as I am fully aware of how much harm it could do....
