It just seems to me that there is something very wrong with a company being able to change what people see on your web pages.

Even though they aren't actually doing anything to the page itself, they are still making what the end user sees different. It wouldn't be legal for a company to modify what people hear on the radio or see on TV, so what is different that makes it legal online?
