Hello, my name is David Guion, and I'm trying to become known around the Internet as the All-Purpose Guru. Mostly I maintain three blogs and write for various content sites, but I'm trying to get into Internet marketing because there seems to be more income potential.

I have another site called The All-Purpose Guru Alert, where I intend to alert readers of my blogs to products related to my main niches. I also have a new home page that has links to all my blogs and all my writings, both online and in print. I have some affiliate links up.

Before I put too much more effort into all this, I need to find out if I have tied everything together into a coherent structure, or if I've just created an unworkable hodgepodge. I suppose there are parts of this forum where I can post links.

BTW, I'm in Greensboro, NC, and if there are other Greensboro folks here, well, do you ever meet face to face as a group? I'd like to find something like that as well as online fora.

From Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
Quote:
guru:

"1 - a personal religious teacher and spiritual guide in Hinduism

2 a - a teacher and especially intellectual guide in matters of fundamental concern
2 b - one who is an acknowledged leader or chief proponent
2 c - a person with knowledge or expertise"
I just don't get it.

Thanks for stopping by, AffiliateHound.

As far as "guru" is concerned, my intention is behind window 2, especially 2c. Here's what Cheesehead wrote in another thread:

"You might consider starting with just a content site offering advice and/or resources on a particular niche. Once this gets well ranked, then add your product pages, feeds, etc."

I hope I'm allowed to post that link: Please Talk Me Out of This!

Anyway, that's my intention. I have my home page in my profile in case you or anyone else needs to take a look. The information there isn't quite right. I have put it in a separate "About Me" page, but don't really know what belongs on the front page.
