Hey Everyone-
I'm Julia and I work with Carolyn at Groupon! Just wanted to pop on the board and say hey. New to this site, but am a Groupon veteran (as much as we can be, considering our site's age. Wish us a  in November).
Okay enough about the day job, because I want to get to know you guys! Carolyn will tell you I make a mean cheesecake. But that's about all I bake. I love to cook though, especially soups.
Unlike most, I'm content when there is a foot of snow on the ground so I can snowmobile (love Ski-Doos but am driving a Polaris at the moment), and love being out on the lake in the summer. I also tend to talk about my family (particularly, my little brother) a lot.
I love love love wine. So far, I really haven't met a wine that I couldn't be at least amicable with, but I'm partial to Reds (Shiraz, Malbecs, and Granache/Tempranillo blends).
I'm also a fan of parenthesis if you haven't noticed!
I'm so excited to get on here, learn from all of your opinions and advice, and maybe share a bit too. In the meantime keep in touch, introduce yourself and pester me if you have any questions.

BTW - I, too, think parenthesis marks rock (unless you use them too much) but I'll never admit to that (really).

Okay, so the day I started, I brought in some brownies. Julia one-upped me the following week with this gorgeous cheesecake...it wasn't too dense, the crust was awesome and it was just beautiful, lol! Every time I've attempted baking a cheesecake, it's cracked

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome... That's a nice thing to come home to after moving my roommates stuff all day!
If you saw us on TV recently, it was likely the Nightline piece. If you squint really hard and look closely I'm in one of the shots. (Insider info- the same day Nightline was at the office we also hosted the mayor... 'twas a crazy day- full of cameras, exceedingly short mayors, and bright lights).
Definitely WAS NOT trying to show you up, Carolyn- I think you'll have me beat on the baking front. I pulled out my big guns with that cheesecake, which means if this were America's Got Talent I'd be screwed for the next round, with nothing but sugar cookies from a tube to impress (or depress) the judges with...
