If you don't want to call or write the AM send me the name I'll call or write and make sure they are fully cognizant of what is exactly transpiring and will try to make them act accordingly. This isn't a drive by software crap head this is your trusted third party ... stealing from merchants and affiliates alike ... passivity only fuels their control, reach and bravado !!!

It's your money! ---- $211 MILLION ---- SCREAM!!!!!

I am writing to all my merchants, pointing them to this thread and asking them why I should not drop them when there is a good chance that my clicks are going to be or have already been stolen by a parasite company owned by LS.

It works. Paul Nichols still remember the effect on merchants. I'm not a power affiliate anymore with many LinkShare merchants but I'm going to do it. And I encourage all LinkShare affiliates to do the same. It's our money. Let them know what LinkShare is doing.

I am a big proponent of outing thieves like this to merchants and it shouldn't just be limited to Linkshare merchants. Merchants with other networks need to take action as well.

I ran all of my programs against their search and none are in there. We found SAHS trolling our programs lately so have been double screening. Did you notice the Google analytics showing up on every search on their site? I am sure they are having a field day watching all of us checking that site for our programs.

I did a search on Wikipedia for Hiroshi Mikitani and the page has been removed. Found info on Forbes.com

I wanted to update you before the weekend with respect to the issues that have been raised here.

We take this very seriously and are looking into each one of the instances demonstrated here. I will get back to you early next week with what we find. If the toolbar is doing something that is not allowed, we will absolutely make sure it is addressed.

It certainly is, Haiko. I wonder what those crack co-Presidents will have to say about this. It's bad enough that OneCause has remained a Linkshare affiliate. It's another thing altogether that Linkshare was double dipping.

Linkshare's has proven repeatedly that they have no network compliance.

When I click on this link, I get "The Camtasia Studio video content presented here requires JavaScript to be enabled and the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player. If you are you using a browser with JavaScript disabled please enable it now. Otherwise, please update your version of the free Adobe Flash Player by downloading here." This doesn't happen with any of Haiko's other video links.

All of this leads me to question how is this particular toolbar promoted/distributed? They must be raking in some big downloads in order to get the money they do.

Also, how do I keep from getting screwed by this thing?

Haiko,

Excellent work on this, currently all of our merchants are in CJ and ShareaSale.. I still feel it is relevant to notify them and our team concerning OneCause and will ensure they are informed as to this toolbars, ahem, "Abilities."

Thanks so much for keeping us informed!

Heather, you might want to consider not linking to this parasite on a public website.

IF
IF

If it's just one cause causing the problem, and just for one cause the is hitting the fence today, then I see no reason to have to wait over three days, just to get a canned answer, about what is going to be done, about this cause.

If there is any one cause that can have a mayor effect on the bottom line of a business, I believe that cause should be addressed ASAP, and not necessarily over three days later, just because it's a weekend now.

But anyway, IF it's not for one cause, it would be for another, because it still looks like there is going to continue to be a new one cause to worry about, every year at this time.

Btw, If this post cause any confusion, it's because just one cause can cause a big headache, for those of us that still like to play, by the rules.

Haiko, what purpose does it serve to provide so many examples? Isn't it safe to assume that OneCause's parasitic behavior will present itself for all of their merchants which are listed on their website?

If I'm missing something, please let me know, but I'm really wondering why you are spending so much time on this.

perhaps all of those merchant names combined with the content in this thread will appear high up in the search engines when people are searching for this kind of problematic behavior

To specifically illustrate that it is NOT an isolated incident nor a glitch on any particular merchant, affiliate nor method of getting to the merchant (Aff, PPC or organic).

I HAVE proven that today, so ... No excuses Linkshare!!

Anyone still remember that old 80's Public Service Ad on TV?

A little clarity please

I have been reading this thread all day and I am disgusted with what is happening. I certainly am not a big Linkshare affilliate, but I am associated with some of the merchants, including Ebay.
My questions are...
Do the merchants that Haiko listed support this program ? I mean...do they "sign up "for this?
Do they give the money to the charity, or does it come from a percentage of one cause affilliate income?
Either way, the 211 million given to charity might be less than their profit.

Seems as if the power to supress this might come from the merchants if they realize the damage it causes.
I know there are other toolbars out there, but what concerns me is this one is tied to charity.
In these times that would make it very attractive to many people.
Also, I applaud Haiko for this thread.
