Just changed over from IIS to Apache server to discover that all my directory links now require a forward slash on the end. Guess that means no sleep for me for the next several days.

Anyone know if there is a script that can make this change for me?

Please help!

DPG,

Have you tried an bulk replacing program? Here's a good one that I use all the time: http://www.abacre.com/afr/index.htm

Replace < / a > with /</a> and you're set to go.

Thanks Akiva,

Thats how I am doing it. I was hoping there was such a product that identifies the A HREF tag then checks the SRC= and if the target doesn't end in .htm .html .exe etc. it could add a slash on the end.

Cheers, DPG

Woa woa woa before you go too far ...

I don't think that's essential Apache behaviour - it's the way yours has been set up.

My Apache server adds the final slash if it's not there - so users and links don't have to worry about it.

I didn't make it do this - it just does.

This will be an Apache configuration option somewhere - just sorry I can't tell you what. There are Apache forums I'm sure where you can fix this once and for all - or get the host/system people to do it.

Are you Crazy?

It's a rewrite whoseywhatsit. I'll look through my config, see if I can find it.

Here - it's a FAQ..

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/misc/FA...set-servername

The gist of which is, "Add a ServerName directive to the config file to tell it what the domain name of the server is," and it'll start to work.

See, by default, I had that problem too, but when I set up my VirtualHost directives, it suddenly started working, so I didn't bother to reason out why at the time
