Hi, So I created a blog on wordpress and started adding content to it. I have also started work on a full website which I'm using using Dreamhost to host. But after realizing that I can't put ads on the word press hosted blog, I tried to host the blog on my dremhost account. The problem is, it is right now hosted on a subdomain of my website (which has nothing to do with the blog, "www.mywebsitename.com/myblogname"). If I register a domain, say from cheapdomain.com and then link to the blog, would it be ok? Or is it better to just stay on the free wordpress hosting?

I'd say get your domain for the $8-$10 from one of the tons of cheap registrars... (godaddy, enom, namecheap)....point it to some reliable & affordable hosting (dreamhost, hostgator, midphase, there are tons...) This way you have no restrictions and can do what you'd like with your blog. Also a bit more reliable than "free" hosting...
