I use statcounter dot com
It's free in a limited version.
I look forward to other responses as I've been looking for an alternative.

I swear by Google Analytics - as long as you don't mind sharing your metrics with the big "G"...

I have moved all my analytics to Clicky, who have an API - used in conjunction with the CJ reporting API it makes a terrific conversion analysis tool for affiliates.

I adore statcounter.. it's free, but I choose to pay for the 10k log file so I can monitor all my sites.
Don't love Google as it has delayed reporting. Have also installed php-based app on my own sites: http://www.phpmyvisites.us/
Still comes back to statcounter for me...

I am another fan of Statcounter. Give it a whirl for FREE. If you like it, you can always upgrade later. Installation is a breeze.

I use microchips implanted in their right hands or foreheads. I started doing it with pets first, then I convinced people to do it by saying it's only for their protection and I'd be able to help them should they get lost or if there is a terrorist attack....that and Statcounter.

Yes--it's open source and awesome (piwik.org). Track campaigns, clicks in/out of site, keywords...all the usual plus track OpenX stats, drag and drop widget interface, open APIs...yes, it's in beta, has it's glitches, but your info is all yours--all gloriously yours.

statcounter. com is what I use. Just a note I suggest when using any counter that you place their code at the bottom of your page just before the </body> and outside of any tables you may be using on the page.

superCool wrote his own PHP tracking script for non-affiliate sites. he keeps the following raw data and then analyzes it programmatically - date/time, ip, page url, referring page url, browser, javascript Y/N
superCool does not currently track outgoing links but that would be important for affiliate sites. what other info do you track?
will check out statcounter
superCool appreciates ya

My own custom PHP for tracking outgoing clicks to merchants. Google Analytics, Awstats and Urchin for general tracking, and Facebook Insights on my Facebook apps.

I actually like extreme tracking the best, as its very easy and neat,
the problem is that its not invisible, I don't mind paying a few bucks, but I have several websites, and I don't want to have a different counter for each website... anyone knows if its possible to have several counters for one subscription with them?
If not, anyone knows a service that kinda works like extreme?
I especially like the way they show the last visitors and their referring sources and countries, for example :
http://extremetracking [.] com/open;ref1?login=alexucho
http://extremetracking [.] com/open;unique?login=alexucho
