Hay Guys,

Was just wondering how others ferred out with the recent Google PR updates?
Had one of my sites drop by 1 and the rest remained the same (so far)!

I've noticed a steady increase in my traffic from G since they started this last series of updates. I've also noticed I have more results for a search for my URL, so, I may have number one and two and then again number 6 and 8 results.

I used to do a lot of SERP keyword domination by getting the top two positions for my main URL, then going after the same keywords with a Squidoo, YouTube, press release and some article marketing. Although the YouTube results seem to be doing really well, the other things seemed to have lost value. This technique allowed me to get the top SERP results and push my competitors off the first page.

I probably have a much different approach to SEO than most.

WebReviews, what do you do for SEO?

Has a PR rank ever done anything for you other than make you feel better (or worse)? Seriously, PR means NOTHING, IMhO...

Seven years ago one of our corporate domains we had in the footer of active websites was a PR6 - and there was nothing on it but a logo and some alt text. It had no business having ANY PR. Since that time haven't watched nor cared about page rank...

Thanks for the responses guys.

@ Convergence
The site had a PR6 rating even though it contained only an image. Is it me or dose that not sound crazy - how do they justify their ranking policy, or is it a load of....!

thanks for the response.

PR is just based on a mathematical formula according to the number and PR of incoming links. Very little relation to quality of the site or serp rankings.

Thing is, if you go anywhere where people sell or trade links, or sell websites, one of the first things they want to know is the PR of the site.

I've read about affiliate managers approving or declining applications based on the sites PR. Or even alexa rating.

So if you plan to do any of those things, PR could affect you. Because of other people being ignorant or taking short-cuts.

Yep, was that way for several years. Just checked now. It still has a PR1, LOL.
