Hi -- I am a newer affilate marketer (since Sept.) and it feels like I am frequently dropped from programs. Just today i was dropped from ToysRUs and BabiesRUs. Is this just how it goes? Is there an ebb and flow of programs?

Getting a little discouraged!

Thanks for your time!

Don't worry, it's life.
A merchant on networks like CJ or LS may drop you for a multitude of reasons:
Like not enough clicks, too many clicks, not enough sales...
On other networks it could be because you offer coupons...
Don't be discouraged, you'll find the right merchant.

BTW, big names like ToysRUs are not always the best merchants to work with. So consider this as a blessing. ToysRUs don't always pay their affiliates around December or they may drop their commission rate...

I suspect they dropped more than a few people today, and I know at least one affiliate who's been with them for around 10 years who got that email today.

I got dropped today as well. Back when they had higher commissions and return days, I sent a lot of sales there way. I haven't been active with them recently.

I received an email from Toysrus on 3/2/11 that stated:

Quote:
As an important partner, we want to keep you updated regarding upcoming program changes. Over the next few weeks, the Toysrus(dot)com Affiliate Program will be transitioning to Pepperjam Network.
So it seems they are changing to a new network.

Carwn - As Zeus said, hang in there. You'll find the right merchants to work with.

toysrus and GSI have been 'partners' for about 5 years now. Was only a matter of time before they made the move...

I sent one of their toy programs alone over $25K in sales last year and was dropped from all of them. Can't get them to return any of my emails.

I got the message to change to Pepperjam, applied, was approved and put links up for both programs and was also dropped today. lol.

I have been their affilaite since they first opened an affiliate program online, and been with them through a multitude of platforms...so maybe it doesn't matter if you are new or not, if you don't meet their programs objectives...

I just finally got a response that basically said "Sorry, we just found out about the changes. But we hope to have the opportunity to work with you at some point in the future."

You can imagine my response to that.....

I can't wait to share this thread with my colleagues, this was a major disruption for us too. Tricia, I can't share what we sent them in 2010 but it's (embarrassingly) much, much more than your own impressive figure. Good riddance indeed.
