All my sites seem to have lost 2 whole points in pagerank... anyone else noticed this? Is it across the board, temporary or what?!

Yeah, there has been a shift for some of my sites - down south but just by 1...
Even ABestWeb is down a point - used to be 6 I think...now it's 5 on my google toolbar...

Was this just today?
If it's just the start of the new index, it may fluctuate a bit over the next week or so... Keep your fingers crossed.
I haven't seen any changes on my end.

Last month I lost a point in some of my sites. Looks like I regained it today.
Perhaps you'll regain your two points next month

Last Month I lost a point on my first site and today gained two.
On two new sites with no pr - both gained three.
I'm happy.

You'll need to download the Google toolbar http://toolbar.google.com/ then then just mouse over the bar under PageRank and you'll see what your page ranking is, or you can just go to http://www.top25web.com/pagerank.php if you don't want to bother with the download.

For those of you who can't live without page rank you might find
this tool
useful. It shows the PR of your site as seen on each of the Google data centres.
If a move is on you will see the variations here.
We've seen some go up by 2 points today - one of them was ours

The "update" already happened. Over the weekend I noticed a fairly sizable change in the SERPS. The PR you are seeing adjusted now just reflects the previous changes in the Big G's SERPS.
The other thing that did happen during this PR update, though, was that those irritating "onmouseover" javascript doorway spammers seem to have been kicked out of the index.
Oh yeah, finally hit the PR6 level, too. Not that it made any real difference (my site didn't move in the SERPS at all during the last big change), but still nice on the ego.

I dont really care what Google has been doing. I've had far more traffic coming in from other SEs.

I get far better rankings on Yahoo then Google with my search phrases. I wonder which is best. Now if I can get consumers to start using these search phrases I would do not to bad.I think to get people to use these phrases will cost me a small fortune. I and ranked on the first page of many Yahoo pages that have millions of listings. Anyone have any ideas?

I think Google is factoring the date the site was built into the PR as well as the links. My older sites all have PR 5 and newer sites all have PR4.
But, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
The newer sites aren't coming up in the SERPS, at least not in the top 20. I don't check any deeper than that. However, the older sites have been pushed higher in the SERPS.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. Doo Wha...Doo Wha...Doo Wha...

Ya know people say pagerank is meaningless.. I'm sorry, but if your site is PR5 or above, the freshbots come by more often I believe.

One of my sites was doing very well with a PR of 6, then was shot down to 4 and really bogged down for hits. Back to 5 now and maybe . . .

Those are people who either never had it, or never lost it. I had it and lost it...it matters alot.
