SF 282 was Laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

The Omnibus tax bill walk through (amendments on Wednesday) is scheduled for the Committee on Taxes, on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. Room 15 Capitol.

What does that mean? Is that where a bunch of bills are dumped into a larger bill, making it harder to fight?

What's the chance of that happening. If it is included in the omnibus bill, what's the next step?

Thanks.

Yes... A lot of bills are combined into the Omnibus bill. A Senator can still propose an amendment to change or delete any part of the Omnibus bill. I would expect there to be lots of amendments to the bill before it's done.

I would expect SF 282 to be included in the Senate Omnibus Tax bill since the House version (Which is the same) has already been included in the House Omnibus Tax bill.

Amendments and vote on the omnibus tax bill (SF 2074 ) are scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 8:30 a.m. Room 15 Capitol.

I haven't seen the full text and research on the bill yet.

We have to keep letting our Senators know how bad this part of the bill is.

The language from SF 282 is in the Senate Omnibus Tax bill. The Senate Bill Summary has it in Article 3, Section 2.

The language looks the same as what's in the House Omnibus Tax bill. The House Research Summary has it in Article 10, Section 27.

Both bills are being presented today, in the House Taxes Committee, and in the Senate Taxes Committee.

Amendments and Vote, in the Taxes Committee, on the Senate bill are scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 8:30 a.m. Room 15 Capitol.

I was listening to it earlier and in the House, they voted to accept the committee report, then was referred to W & M . Right now they are still finishing up some other business and then the W & M will meet on HF2323 after session.

Looks like a long night.
