I was able to watch the Live hearing webcast yesterday, thought the house staff did a pretty good job explaining things.

A Windows Media Player recording of the hearing can be seen at:

http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/htv...xesA020112.asx

It's about a minute and a half into the recording when the gavel drops and the hearing actually starts.

The only ones that got to testify (as time was limited) were those in favor, with Best Buy and Target notable.

No action was taken. The Chair said the bill will be back in committee again at a later date with equal time given to anyone wishing to testify against the bill.

Thanks for your updates. At this point, are we just waiting until we can testify? Is it time to
start emailing our reps?

Once a bill is pending, its never too early, and phone calls and written letters make much more of an impact than emails.

Here's a Windows media player link to the hearing on Feb 21:

http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/htv...xesA022112.asx

The hearing starts about 2:10 into the video.

There was a lot of discussion. The video runs 1 hour and 25 minutes.

It was laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus tax bill.

It's anybody's guess what is going to happen with the bill. It might be in an omnibus bill, it might not. If it's in an omnibus bill... That bill would have to pass, and then be signed by the Governor.

Things can happen fast and be unpredictable when it comes to bills.
