The Senate Tax Committee will be taking up their omnibus tax bill this week and we are concerned about an affiliate nexus amendment in that body.

Senator Ortman, Chair of the Senate Tax Committee, is the author of both the affiliate nexus bill and the Omnibus Tax Bill.

The next meeting where we may need to testify is Thursday's Senate Tax Committee meeting at 8:30 in Room 15 of the Capitol. We will by Wednesday what is in her bill and will let you know whether we will need you to testify on Thursday.

Senator Ortman released her tax bill this morning and there is NO affiliate nexus language in the bill. This is very good news but certainly not the end of our challenge to keep this language from becoming law. It would be good if everyone can email the members of the tax committee.

Minnesota Senate Committees - Taxes Committee

You should support the current language of the bill which excludes any affiliate nexus language. You will want to ask the committee to vote no on any amendments to add affiliate nexus and remind them of the impact of this language on your business.

Thanks for the update. This is good news! I hope that they keep they keep this language and don't adopt any ammendments.

Does anyone have a status of the Nexus Bill or its inclusion with an Omnibus bill?
