hi guys, just a quick one on .xml sitemaps.

As you add more pages and content to your site or edit something, Do you have to get a new xml sitemap each time or how often should you update it?

Thanks in advance,

A sitemap should reflect the current state of your site.

Update it as you add content. You can find scripts or programs to do the updating if you so desire.

My main site I simply use a .txt file URL list for the sitemap I submit to GWT. Just as effective for passing on the basic info - per Matt Cutts.

We use Inspyder Sitemap Creator. You can set a schedule, automatically update, upload, and ping the SEs. Also allows you to create in .txt, xml, .gz formats.

Great for sites that you only occasionally update as well...

Just wondering can Inspyder Sitemap Creator be setup for multiple sites so it stores the .xml for each site in a different directory as will as Scheduling multible sites for creations of the .xml files?? They do not talk about multible sites on their site.

Yes!

It will also obey robots.txt files and you can add additional parameters to ignore as well. So, if your site has a sort function you can ignore that because it's basically duplicate content in a different area.

Worth the price - may even vote it the best affiliate tool of 2011...
