Per Chuck's suggestion in the drop thread, I'll start this off with my entire merchant list:

Viator (SaS)
Loxly Gallery (SaS)
Drop Stop (SaS)
BuySellLeaseTrade (SaS)
M-Rock (SaS)

Who else isn't going to drop affiliates?

Not directed at you guys but based on experience.

Everyone should post the reason they claim they won't dop affiliates (non taxed product, already collect tax). It has been my experience that some "incorrectly" claim to accept affiliates from all states. Every week I receive several false claims of being NY Friendly.

Good point - it may take a bit of sorting through fine print and applying only to be rejected to find out that they don't accept NC residents.

Great thread - this will help a lot of the affiliate marketers that are trying to plan out their next steps!

Avery

Edit- and as we're doing in the thread of affiliates that are dropping NC residents would it be possible for the updaters of the thread to copy and paste the list adding the ones they know about?

Since the retailer has to earn at least $10,000 from its N.C. affiliates over the previous four-quarter period in order to collect the tax it's likely there will be smaller retailers who can continue biz as usual.

Viator isn't required to collect tax, the other programs are small enough that they will not reach $10,000 from NC affiliates to NC customers.

Remember that the nexus is only from that state's affiliates TO that states customers.

Heels.com (CJ/GAN/PJN) - NC based company which already collects NC sales tax.

Sports Endeavors, which is Soccer.com and Lacrosse.com (CJ/PJN) - NC based company which already collects NC sales tax.

iContact.com (CJ) - NC based company and a service provider. NC does not currently charge sales tax for services (email marketing in this case). There has been talk of changing this. If that happens, they are still an NC based company which means by default they would have to begin collecting NC sales tax.

We aren't dropping affiliates from anywhere.

From our TOS: Important: We accept affiliates from all states, including...North Carolina...and any states that pass what we consider to be unconstitutional affiliate tax laws.

We aren't dropping affiliates.

Just because we're taking a position.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that because http://www.1800contacts.com is already set up to charge taxes in all states online - we can work with all affiliates in all states.

Please let me know if you have any questions and have a great day!

Thank you!

Girly Checks (SAS - GirlyChecks.com) will continue to work with NC Affiliates.

Being a new program, we likely will not meet the $10K (NC affiliate sales to NC residents) threshold in 2010.
