It's been awhile since I signed up and started posting. I may be remembering this wrong, isn't there a set amount of time or number of posts before a registered user can vote in a poll? I recall the first few polls that were going on when I first joined I couldn't participate in for some reason. I presume it is that limitation.

That being said, I've been watching this poll and as of this post there are only 41 voters. Some may have been put off by the perceived tone of the poll, some may not have seen it, perhaps some can't vote due to being too new. But its a sad statement that at least 1% of the registered members at ABW (about 500) can't be bothered to click a mouse to vote.

Perhaps I'll regret this post, and I'll be labeled 'negative', but apathy isn't a strong enough word for what is going on here.

Haiko has busted his ass posting indisputable proof of how we as affiliate are being abused by so called 'trusted' 3rd parties and how merchants are being stolen from by their 'top' partners.

It can't be much easier than clicking a mouse to say you're mad as hell and you're not going to take it anymore. You don't have to be a super affiliate, you don't even have to be an average affiliate. You just have to care that someone is taking advantage of you.

I know the timing is bad. Its the holidays, we've all got so much crap going on we don't know how we'll get it all done. I'm working a 'day' job that takes up 12 to 14 hours a day. I get home exhausted, I try to find some family & friends time and then do a little work on a few sites. I understand. Really, I do.

If due to some limitation that prevents you from voting in this poll, at least make a post that says 'I care'. Let Haiko and those that are fighting this for you and me know their effort is appreciated and we want, no we need, them to stay strong and focused on the goal of cleaning up these parasites and the dirty networks they thrive in.

I've at best had limited success in specific niches, not so much that I matter to any program or program manager. any of you may feel the same. They'll just delete the email because they think you don't matter either. But my email of concern about this issue combined with your email combined with hundreds of others reading this will matter. Separately we don't think we matter and they don't think we matter, and ok, maybe we don't. But by the hundreds or thousands.... we matter.

I do this part-time and at times, don't work on my site for weeks. When I look at the list of merchants at OneCause and other parasites, if I pulled them all down at once, I'd have to tear down a good deal of my site and in actuality, I'd have to give it up. I removed several merchants and am in the process of pulling down more as I find replacements, but it isn't easy. I don't have much time to spend on it, and when I do, that means that I don't have time to promote it.

However, I realize that if we don't take action and refuse to collectively send merchants traffic, there's no other way to send them a harsh "wakeup call" and make them realize who their true partners were. So I'll plod on as I can.
