A locally based online auction site aims to compete with eBay.

eBay's got another competitor in Pricester.com, riding a new wave of Internet stores. More than a simple auction website, Pricester dips into the realm of a true virtual store.
''Pricester.com is for the moms and pops of the world to become international marketplace players,'' said Howard Neu, legal counsel and investor.
Neu, who served as mayor of North Miami for six years, now lives in Davie. He is one of a handful of lawyers in the country who specialize in Internet law.
''There's a lot of hidden growth going on in the Internet right now,'' he said. ``Our whole focus is to make the Internet comfortable, easy and accessible for the small business owner.''
Pricester.com, based in Hallandale Beach, allows people to set up websites and sell their goods without knowing anything about shopping carts, domain registration and website design. Those services usually incur major costs to a seller. But not with Pricester.

It sounds very interesting.
Maybe no more nickels reversals?

Sal,
Thanks for posting that info.
> auction site aims to compete with eBay
These words are from actual members and media that already visited pricester and have seen what it's about and therefore have made the comparison.
There are a few more stories out there being written about pricester that we have no control over, they just call us and write about us because they read about us somewhere and that is the way the media and other writers on the internet compete with each other for new news stories, etc.

It was not a Press Release. However like Sal says: "I was thinking on how the other big names started on the web". I am sure you will here more about us from your own local friends soon.

The pricester page itself is live then? Or only the subpages? Is pricester.com an example, live demo? Or the real thing?
The reason I ask:
http://www.pricester.com/search/sear...sp%3Fid%3D5959
the user world wide web's description:
"Comments: World Wide Web is a link system which directs consumers to existing websites on the web. "
And is that you giving feedback on your own auction?
I tried to buy something from someone's store and it told me:
"Due to a maintenance procedure we can not complete your operation at this time.
Please try again later. "
It has told me that for a few days.
Click on the "auction closing fast" brings me to the same boat, since you first advertised here. You have 16 stores? Half of those have no products, no one has any feedback... After 6 months?
Also you say you have auctions, competing against ebay, but where are the auctions? All i see is a shopping cart.
I know everyone has to start somewhere, but this just doesn't feel right.

Ok Chet you leave me no choice then to make you a public offer here.
Since pricester is FREE to join and FREE to list any time.
I challenge you to post or list any item you want to sell and I will BUY IT. Now, don't brake my bank account. I have $20.00 I am willing to spend it on any item you list, RIGHT NOW.
This is public so you know I have to do it.
This will be a way for you to see that all is real and live, and then perhaps you can join in as a member too.
Send me an email jramirez@pricester.com or PM when item is listed.
I will be on standby....

That is my point. I don't want some rigged transaction - that is all I see. Can you answer the questions?
I can go to the wayback machine

And it looks as complete as it does now, sure the look has changed, but I just don't get it. I am not accusing you of scamming, I don't see where you profit from it - but I just don't get it. You still haven't even set commissions for affiliates. Is Bank of America really using your software?
When you first came on ABW you promoted your site, and if you notice you respond to your own posts again and again, I just don't think people get it.
You say auctions - but none of your "auction" listings even have date/times on them when they end. So no auctions, you are just a shopping cart provider? No offense but the site setup and shopping carts are rudimentary and dog ugly. So is that it?
And then you just want affiliates to make copies of your 3 page sites with domains you own? Why not just do it yourself?
Again, I am not saying you are ripping off anyone, I just think people look at your site, look at your posts and are confused, I am. There is lots of hype, lots of "revolutionary" which is really confusing, because it seems the same old stuff. Which is fine, there is room for more than one of anything, but I don't know what you are one of, and what ever you are - you don't seem ready.

Chet,
> some rigged transaction
Why would it be rigged?
$20.00 on standby.
I'll allow you 48 hours to take pricester and my challenge serious, otherwise no point in answering any further questions direct from you, since obviously you will never allow anything to get passed you without such scrutiny or that involves competition.
> but this just doesn't feel right.
It's not as if I am bending your arm to join. You can take advantage of the many FREE features pricester has to offer now and start earning more money, specially selling items for FREE, etc. or you can just sit by the side of the road and see the glass as "halve empty" all the time.

It is rigged because you are not a real buyer. That is exactly what I am talking about. No real buyers, no real sellers.
And you avoid all the other questions, is it you can't explain your own site?
Its fine, don't answer my questions, avoid the subject, avoid explaining your site, but in 6 months, when you still have nothing, and no affiliates, look back at this thread. This thread will not be the reason why, but your inability to explain will be.

"...compete with eBay."
Huh? When I land here (pricester..com) I get an affiliate site. When I click on the barter thing (that means trade - not bid) I get a login page.
I don't see anything eBay about this at all. Pretty nifty free advertising though - congratulations !

The purpose of creating this forum was to put out this type of information and help affiliates see what other services and benefits pricester has to offer. With this, affiliates can create keywords, add domain names, and help us both succeed.
