I.R.S. Form 1099-MISC for 2010 online or .pdf in email

Ranae: Please Forward my suggestion to LinkShare Management. ASAP, please make the I.R.S. Form 1099-MISC for 2010 available, in the Publisher interface, in .pdf format, so we can Download it; or, email it to the Publishers, in .pdf format.

That will help those of us who want to file our 2010 Income Tax returns with the I.R.S., ASAP and it will also help those whose 1099 forms are lost in the Snail Mail.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will pass your idea onto our product management team. This is not something that will be incorporated for the 2010 1099's though so you will still have to wait for them the old fashioned way.

Ranae: Thank you! If they can do that, starting with forms for 2011, that will be a big plus. Hopefully the form for 2010 will arrive in the Snail Mail. If they can post a message, in the upper left hand corner of the welcome screen, when they mail them out, that would be helpful. Lanny

Ranae: SAS has 1099s online, for the 2010 tax year, now. I am certain that the technical people at LinkShare can do this too. If not for 2010, starting with the 2011 tax year.

Please have them place an announcement on the Publishers welcome page, after they finish mailing the 1099-MISC forms out. Thank you! Lanny

Question: Has LS implemented this, to begin with the 2011 tax year?

If not, I hope there is still enough time, for the LS Tech people to implement this, so 1099-MISC forms will be available, in .pdf form for download, from the LS Publisher interface.

Hi Lanny,

We did look into this solution and unfortunately it is not a simple solution based on how our current system works. This is definitely something we are looking into as part of our overall long term plan though. I can't make any commitments however I can say it will likely take a few years.

Hi Lanny,

Yes, we did mail the 2011 1099-MISC forms. You should have received it by now if you earned over 600$ in commissions.

Hi Ranae: I waited, for it to arrive, until this afternoon. My Form 1099-MISC for 2011 did not arrive. A few minutes ago, I sent an email to LinkShare Publisher Support, asking that they mail a Duplicate Form 1099-MISC for 2011 to me. Take care, Lanny

Thank you! Joshua B. replied to me, this morning The Accounting Dept. will work on it, and next week (hopefully!) they will send me an email, with a .pdf attachment, with my Form 1099-MISC for 2011.

That will be perfect!
