Payment Report & Sales/Activity Report don't match

The November Payment looks like it's missing
several sales made during the month. Why
aren't they showing?

It does Not match the Sales/Activity Report
run for the Merchant.

Maybe they posted it early again--like last month. I actually have sales still showing up on my November reports. Had another $20 or so show up for November just this morning.

If they don't match, though, don't worry. It'll show up next month.

It also could be that the items haven't shipped yet. Most merchants do not pay until the merchandise is shipped.

Hi gettnthar,

Your online reports are generated based on "Transaction Date", while the Payment Report is generated based on the "Process Date" for the transaction. "Transaction Date" is the date that a transaction occurs, as reported to LinkShare by merchants. The date of a transaction may not always be the same as the date that it is reported to us for processing. For example, some merchants will wait for credit card authorization or for the item to ship before sending the transaction information to LinkShare. "Process Date" is used to determine when a merchant will be invoiced for a transaction. LinkShare invoices are based on all transactions processed from the first day through the last day of the invoice month.

Therefore, if a transaction for a given month is reported to LinkShare for processing after the last day of that month, then the transaction will appear in the next month's payment report, creating a discrepancy in the reports. The following example illustrates this situation:

Example: A transaction occurs on Nov 30, 2002. It is reported to LinkShare on December 2, 2002. If the Sales and Activity Report is run on December 3, then this transaction will appear in the November online reports. However, the commission amount for this transaction does not show up in the Payment Report for November because it was reported to LinkShare and processed after the month of November ended. Instead, it will show up in the Payment Report for December. Hence, this transaction falls in the December Processing Period with respect to payments.

The amounts shown in your Payment Report are the same amounts that are billed to merchants by LinkShare on your behalf, and you should use the Payment Report for the purpose of reconciling payments that are due to you.

Report in more detail.

I didn't know if LS updated the current month
as more sales were reported or what.

Now I know to look for the missing sales in
December.

Does that payment Report show details of the checks that Linkshare has sent to me? If so, how do I find it - just been lookng and can't see it anywhere? This would be really useful if it exists.

Oops - I found it (feeling silly now!). For anyone who doesn't know it's under the "Your account" tab rather than the "Run reports" section (which was where I was originally looking).
