If you're trying to grab the files from home, your dynamic IP is the cause of the failure. Unless you do some server-side scripting to grab them directly your server, you're out of luck like many of us.

Keep bugging Linkshare about this ridiculous "security" policy of only allowing certain IPs.

I believe there is a free service in the US where they can assign you a static IP... I need to dig up what it is though... will check and get back to you

i live in the UK, and am not sure if i have a static ip address or not, how do i find out?? i use a lan connection from a local company.
i did not want to put anything down on the form, incase i got it wrong.

also, how can the $250 be paid? is it taken by credit card??

and why do we need a static ip address anyway? it seems silly in this day and age!!

To protect their merchants from fraudulent affiliates who might give their username and password out. So we all have to incur extra expense so Linkshare doesn't get ripped off.

Ah yes, but they can *sell* it to merchants as an extra security measure they have in place to protect their feeds.

How do I even get access to LS datafeeds? Do I have to be accepted? If so, how do I apply? I sent them an email to ask, but it seems to have fallen into a black hole.

You have to pay them $250 to be able to access their feeds. It's important to pay them for the right to increase their sales.
