While I know page rank isn't as important as it used to be and is only one factor in Google determining search results, I'm curious why some of my site home pages receive different page rankings in IE vs. Chrome (Same page being compared).
Please Note: The comparison was made while being signed-OUT of my google account on both browsers. |

The Google can gather and show different results in Chrome because it's THEIR browser. Usually based on your search habits. You don't have to be logged in for them to do what they do.
Have you tried Opera, Firefox, and Safari as well? If you clear your cookies out of all but Chrome you will probably see that the other browsers show the same results and Chrome will be different. Clear them from all the browsers and they will more than likely match...

Thanks Convergence. The reason I noticed is that I noticed on my newest sites that the page rank had increased (Yesterday all browsers matched) but today, Chrome reverted to what it was in the past.

Hi,
I cleared history and cookies in both Chrome and IE and IE still shows a different page rank than Chrome. |

Chrome is still run by the Google. What are your privacy settings?

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. In IE my privacy settings are set to medium.

If that doesn't change it, I wonder if Google is showing REAL Page Rank in their browser, and Toolbar Page Rank in IE. That would be hysterical. Great ploy to get webmasters to use the browser.

Kevin. There was no change. Maybe you're on to something. It's annoying. I just checked a page rank checker (Not sure on the validity of them) and it gave me the same page rank as my IE toolbar.
