All my sites from Tripod and Angelfire have been dropped from Google. Many other people state the same. Previously had good positions
in the Google SERPs and lots of traffic.

Do you know if Google has booted all the sites from Tripod and Angelfire(Lycos)?

There is chatter elsewhere on other forums but nobody knows how to get a handle on this.

Will you please contact Google and let me know. This action by Google is heartbreaking.

Thanks

No, there are plenty of tripod site in Google.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...ipod.%2Bcom%22

Plus Google wouldn't do that, they said once they see no reason why they can't index every page on the internet.

So Google takes a stand to eliminate the Free hosting sites bombarding their SERPs with links taking Googlers to drive-by BHO popups. Sure some of the popups are just the normal hated Ads, but those free hosting wanks slide in BHO install lead fee commissions. Whack them Google as the free hosters never raised a stink to eliminate subjecting their visitors to sleezeball Ad Whore marketing.

Next up is Google ceasing to be a FREEBEE yellow pages for couponers and every other form of incent marketing SE spammers as they feel their informed loyal searchers don't need to trash their systems with BHO's or deceptive Ads. They are discussing ways to blackballing any domains getting complaints for links hawking drive-by installs of any kind. That is a priority as they owe gorrilla affiliate marketers nothing but flipping them the bird.

LOL yada yada yada
Google is not eliminating free hosting sites. Just check the serps, very easy to see they're not.

One of my sites has mysteriously disappeared up its own anus.

(A .com domain)

It got zilch traffic for 9 months, then, suddenly, beginning of December, it got hits from all search engines.

Since two days ago, it gets nothing again.

Go figure.

I would think if they get to the point that they keep dropping all these different types of sites will just leave the surfer going elsewhere to search once they can't find what they need
Will take time, but I think they would be destroying their own business model by doing this.

All you guys need to spend one day reading and answering the Googler complaints their SERPs led them to some popup porn hellhole, bogus offerings, un-related re-directs, Trademark infringement notices and drive-by spywarez/adwarez installs. The language alone would force a Google employee to cringe and demand some link filtering.

Yes, it would be great if they could somehow find out when they crawl all those pages with drivebys and delete them all but they can't even figure out cloaked pages and pages with hidden text. I would like to see all that go away, but they're not just going to delete all free hosting sites, you could put that same kinda crap on cheap hosting sites and any site for that matter.

I don't get that response from my banker, but I sure do get it from everybody else. They tend to react the same way that someone would if you told them you were selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door, or just about any other sales scam that you can think of. Very few people that I come into contact with take any of this seriously, even when you show them how much money is involved. Most assume you are just wasting your time "playing" on the computer.

Umm - hello? If these sites are being used as affiliate marketing you really should get your own domain!

Yeah, Jack. Four of my best pages got bumped up. All on the first page of Google results now.

Let the good times start to roll!

After you see a few hundred in sales, you
are self-employed according to the IRS. They
want their money.

Need a little advice. How would I go about transferring hundreds of pages to my own domain?
Need recommendation on good host.
Thanks

I have my own server as I out grew my hosting account a few years back.

There are many hosting sites that are very reasonably priced, it all depends on the volume of traffic (bandwidth) and amount of disk space you need.

Transfer is easy as you are not likely to have any database or fancy cgi with your current set up, you just need one big FTP session. Getting your own domain name is an important step if you are serious about becoming professional, visitors will take your site / buying recommendations more seriously.

Good luck!
