I think this is a is a mistake. They'll become known as the SE who has to pay/bribe users.
IMO yahoo was becoming better and better, close to google quality, but then around the middle of last year........pfttttt....Wha Happened???

normally, people don't even know that these companies are making money from their searches. it tells them that they do.

If this did work (which I doubt), others would do it - then the central issue of quality would become the deciding factor again. And when that happens, Yahoo's ROI will be lower than it is today (reduced by giveaways).
This is yet another mistake by Yahoo in the competition for the audience's attention and the spoils that comes from getting it.

Yahoo really is coming down in quality.
Several years ago I paid the -- what was it? --
$199 to be listed in their directory...
Back then it brought steady traffic, but now I
don't even notice I'm not listed in their *important*
directory.
It would be like a baseball team suddenly no longer
winning any games after May 9 and nobody noticed.

Which brings up a question:
Dose anyone think it is important to have a link in the Yahoo directory?
Dose it help your Google page rank?
Or is it just a waste of money?

Fess up and this is gonna be a dummy question. 
Was checking some stats and had somebody visiting from the Blingo site. Visited it and saw it's publisher clearing house and powered by yahoo and ask. Read a little about it and visited the McAfee thingie and saw where there's the 2 downloads the users use when they're members of it.
Came here and found these 2 threads about it. Don't think there'd be anythng that could be done about it anyway but if I'm getting visitors from I suppose either the yahoo or ask search result....the fact that there's downloads involved in it, would that be hurting my site in any way??
ok, told ya ahead of time, this would be a dummy question.
