I'm sure people found ways to do it regardless but now they're fine with it:

I got notice from CJ last night that Yahoo is changing their TOS to delete the requiremnet that ALL affiliate traffic be sent to a LP first.

Now this is a big change how are the best offers that allow "Direct" traffic found?

Send a message via Yahoo to loxly Send a message via Skype™ to loxly
It will be per merchant, so you will have to email AM's or dig through Merchant TOS'.

This is clearly a move to help fend off the MSN offer. I think G will let Yahoo have their "day in the Sun" and then suck the revenue lost back in and maybe something extra just to get a nice "POP" and let everyone know who is the master.

Just IMHO

I'm in favor of the move reported here, but I wish the engines had permissioning controls, there's too much abuse going on with dtm domain name ppc bidders.

Best case: PPC engine allows the site owner to permit third parties to also bid on traffic directed to their site. No major engines currently do this.

Okay case: PPC engine allows anyone to send traffic to any site they want. G does this, report says Y now does this.

Worst case: Nobody can bid on ppc traffic that doesn't go to a domain they own. Limits partnerships, agencies, affiliate reach and more. The way Y has done it until now.

Y is following G's lead here, G's been that way for many years. Y trying to play catch up by imitating the leader. Y may want to beef up the click fraud detection if they want to really impress people.

This is huge news. DTM affs. will be grateful to CJ for working with Yahoo on this policy change.

"there's too much abuse going on with dtm domain name ppc bidders."

Isn't that one pretty easy to handle. If merchants don't want it, don't allow it. And if they see affiliates do it, deactivate them and then let them waste their money sending the merchant free traffic.
