A: Ben Edelman just busted them all as being fake / rogue shitware, owned and operated by the same syndicate (C-NetMedia ***) who take great care to choose names very similar to recognized, legit companies.

*** Note: C-NetMedia is unrelated to tech news site CNET and it's associated sites like download.com. Of course these C-NetMedia shitware purveyors named themselves like this on purpose, to confuse people into believing they're legit.

Ben Edleman has been an Adwhore gunslinger at ABW for many years. Just some more of his great work outing this group of anti- Spyware/Adware posers... http://www.benedelman.org/news/021408-1.html

What a nest of vipers. When people are using these particular search terms it is often when their computers are under attack and they are on their last nerve. To take advantage of them like that is sickening.

Maybe we should all throw in $10 and hire some adware programmer and have him come up with a BHO that locks up C-Net Media Servers tighter than you know what.

When I talk to MSN next week, I will give them the info ... they may know about it already, but I doubt they have seen Ben's link yet.
