Hi all,
I registered few weeks ago as an affiliate with SAS.
As you can imagine, there are lots of mysteries for an affiliate noob...
Now, I am trying to get the picture how things work here, of course with a hope I'd try to make a potent environment for the affiliate links on my sites...
I've already made some live aff links on my site, and even had my first aff sale few days ago. Not bad I think, for just 15 days of engagement
But I am puzzled with how data feeds work, how are they generated and implemented. Can anyone point me to a guide or something?
Tools, the process .. lol, in fact all the stuff...
Thanks for your time ppl
Vita R.

Perhaps if you had a specific question you may get more answers. There's no way we could explain in a forum how to run an affiliate website.
As for datafeeds, they are basically text files. They're generated by the merchant and contain their product information, usually link URLs, descriptions, image locations, etc. To use them, you'll have to be setup with a database of your choice or something like Webmerge.
Congrats on your first sale.

xandman, thanks for your reply!
Yeah, I am really at the start so shooting questions would require lots of time and would be silly...
I googled "webmerge" and some things poped out...
What version of Webmerge should I look for?
I see that the latest is 2.4 ... Is it possible to find free version of Webmerge?
Thanks again!

Sorry, I don't use it myself but see some folks here speak highly of it. Check out their forum here for more information. Good luck!

Vita,
There is also a datafeed forum here at ABW that is quite helpful. You might skim through it to get an idea of what all is involved and once you get started you can submit questions if needed. Folks here are really quite helpful if you can be specific in your questions.
Good luck!

Vita, I've tried finding the "datafeed forum" here, but had no luck. Could you please give a URL to it?
