Got this email this morning. Don't know what to think of this ....
Celebrate Express is Moving to Commission Junction!
We're excited to announce that we will be launching a new affiliate program on the Commission Junction network very soon! What does this mean for you? As an important member of our virtual sales force, we'll make every effort to ensure a smooth transition. We officially plan on ending our partnership with ShareASale on March 31, 2009, which will allow our affiliates two months to make the transition.
New features that will be available with the launch of Commission Junction are:
- Item-Based Tracking - Enhanced Reporting in CJ allows you to run reports on what YOU personally sell
- 60-Day Tracking Cookie - Double your current cookie life!
- Seasonal Link offerings that rotate - pull the code once and rest assured!
We will continue to uphold all of our current affiliate program policies, which include running a clean, adware/loyaltyware free program. We will not allow affiliates in to our program that offer software, adware, loyaltyware, toolbars or browser plug-in's.
With the upcoming move to Commission Junction, you'll still be able to promote and earn commission on all three branded Web sites!

Does that mean Celebrate Express will be dropping FatWallet because FatWallet offers a toolbar?

Why can't Merchants give us choice? Why can't they offer their program on both networks i.e, one that we like and the other you like.
I am going to replace my links now. Good Bye!

Best of luck to them. This gives me time to find a replacement. That's too bad as I liked their program.
Links coming down in 5,4,3,2.....

I don't think they are on CJ yet. I think that was just a 'heads up' email.
It sure does sound like they do not allow FW with their toolbar.
If that is so, I will stick with them.

I like this:
"Item-Based Tracking - Enhanced Reporting in CJ allows you to run reports on what YOU personally sell"
Very handy and wish more merchants would take advantage of this. Where I can have something as simple as a home page text link, somebody buys something and I can go in the reports and see exactly what it is. And if I notice something selling from some basic links, I can build pages for that something or do some PPC for that something.

They are probably switching because the company that bought CE is on CJ.

Can't help, but post this.
Those of you who are now looking for a ShareASale-based costumes merchant, HalloweenMart (which is not only about Halloween, but all kinds of adult, children's and even pet costumes), a program that I manage, may be an option.

BTW, I did better with HalloweenMart last year than Celebrate Express.

Why is this a big deal that they are moving to CJ?
It's just one merchant moving from one network that allows adware and crapware to another that allows adware and crapware.

I hope that isn't the case at all. ReneeM is currently running a clean program and I believe that she will continue to do so, if it's in her power. So in fairness, I don't think we should quickly jump to any conclusions.

Nice program, and I, too, did a bit better with them last year.

Halloween Mart is not mixed in with the FatWallet Adware. Who knows what policies may change when C/E moves - their parent company has "stuff" in OneCause.

Also fun to note, on the fat wallet website, the links include the afsrc=1 tag, wouldn't want to lose any commissions to rogue affiliates!!
I noticed BuyCostumes listed, I'll email Kristen if she hasn't already made note of it.
I did quite well with C.E. last year due to a little niche that converted with them. As hardwaregeek said, leaving one network with toolbars for another, not a big deal. It's how they run the program that is going to matter.

What I don't get is why move? SAS fees are minimal and overall most affiliates like SAS. It would be nice if they sent out a survey or something asking affiliates how they feel about a move. How am I suppose to be loyal if I'm just an afterthought?

Buycostumes and Celebrate Express are now under the same parent company.
They will probably merge inventory.
Buycostumes is one of the merchants that has itemized listing for any affiliates sales, so that is probably what that newsletter was referring to (and Trust) regarding being able to view what customers actually purchased.

I noticed that Kristen's signature line in her latest email already lists her as the affiliate manager of both BuyCostumes and Celebrate Express. So I'm sure that plays into everything as well. If they are just merging CE into BC in every way, it makes sense that they would stay with the CJ program rather than SAS. It doesn't mean I like it..... but it does make sense.

And allowing the adware icon to flash RED on "your" customers.
Yes, this was through an affiliate link (on one of my daughter's sites). The mouseover POP-UP tells YOUR customers that, " Shopping with FatWallet.com could save you money with this store!"
So the quote in the announcement email...

...no longer seems to be true.
Such a shame.
