As if all of us didn't have enough grief:
***************************************************** Shop at Home launches cash-back shopping, catalog, and coupons portal Belcaro Group merges sites, benefiting consumers and merchants alike. DENVER, February 14, 2006 - ShopAtHomeSelect.com and ShopAtHome.com are now a one-stop destination for consumers seeking money-saving opportunities, catalogs and cash rebates, Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Belcaro Group announced today. "Based on consumer feedback, we've integrated the cash-back rebate functions available at ShopAtHomeSelect.com, the catalog request functions of ShopAtHome.com, and the coupons and special offers of both sites into one new, more powerful shopping portal - ShopAtHome.com," said president and chief executive officer Marc Braunstein. The new portal, www.ShopAtHome.com, combines the features of the company's two sister sites: ShopAtHome.com, a site featuring more than 700 catalogs, magazines and free e-newsletters, and ShopAtHomeSelect.com, offering cash-back rebates for more than 1000 merchants, specials, and a downloadable reminder software to make sure members never miss a rebate. "I travel extensively for work, and with ShopAtHome.com I don't need to worry about store hours. I can purchase airline tickets, book a rental car and even upload and buy digital photos online, anytime, anywhere. And I get cash back with all the convenience. It's a great deal for me," said Kim, a consultant from Louisiana and ShopAtHome.com customer. Pay for performance "Yes, it's a great deal for the consumer," said Pam Jeffords, vice president of sales for ShopAtHome.com. "But it's also an incredible deal for merchants, because we offer a unique pay-for-performance model. With more than one-and-a-half million ShopAtHome.com customers, the potential for merchants of all sizes to generate new business is phenomenal." Evolution The portal is the latest step in an evolutionary process that began in 1986, with Belcaro Group's paper catalog of catalogs, which is still printed. Braunstein transitioned from print to Web ten years ago with the first ShopAtHome.com catalog site, followed four years ago by the ShopAtHomeSelect.com in response to consumer demand. "ShopAtHome.com is one of the largest, dedicated shopping resources on the Web today. Many sites offer coupons and cash back, but ShopAtHome.com is the single place that combines both of those features with a consumer catalog. We are looking forward to announcing more features as we continue to evolve our portal based on consumer feedback," said Braunstein. About Belcaro Group Belcaro Group, Inc, founded in 1986, is a privately owned and operated company in Greenwood Village, Colo. Belcaro publishes and mails more than 10 million ShopAtHome catalogs annually, and owns a catalog, magazine and cash-back shopping portal, ShopAtHome.com, which features rebate opportunities at more than 1000 online retailers. ShopAtHome.com generates millions of targeted leads for the direct response industry. For more information visit: www.shopathome.com. Great another place for me to find affiliate programs that I WONT work with. Why any named brand stores would want to associate themselves is beyond me.

Nice to see an evil enity booted from Befree and CJ still showing a greed driven list of merchants seeking to advertise on competitors sites... http://discounts.shopathome.com/cat_merchants.asp?CatID=28&sGUID={D78F824D-2D2E-470F-AC7D-F4847D1138E0}
To see if your merchant programs are listed at SAH just choose a category. Amazing CompUSA is a CJ merchant, (banned program) and still gives SAH cash rebates equal to their low commission rate for normal affiliates???

What are they expecting?
They are moving their Winsock 2 Layered application from ShopAtHomeSelect.com to ShopAtHome.com Are they trying to confuse LinkShare and their merchants? Is it a step to get back with CJ? Anyway, it means now ShopAtHome.com redirects visits to merchant sites in order to take our affiliate fees. We need a real explanation from the new owners at LinkShare. |

Sure hope Ms.B cranks up the packet sniffer and downloads the SAH browser hijacking tool. Wonder if the Anti-Spyware/Adware detect removal tools still whack this one??

It's right there on their new portal: ShopAtHome.com
They use SAHAGENT, SAHAgent adware is also known as Golden Retriever http://discounts.shopathome.com/uninstall.asp?sGUID={AC2623BD-AC09-493A-A8C1-57636BBBC273} CROOKS. Do you know ShopAtHome.com have an Affiliate Program at LinkShare? So an uninformed affiliate can promote these thieves without knowing they are stealing from him. |

Golden Retriever can be updated on the fly and doesn't need to move, just to point to varying domains. It was already fully capable of doing that (imagine the alias tricks they are able to play).

I like that from their EULA (link at the bottom of their site - End User License Agreement)
"10. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIVITIES You are fully responsible for your activities using the Software. You shall not use the Software in any way that is unlawful or that harms us or any other party in any way. And, what if their software harms us? Also: Our Software is designed to protect against its removal and interference with its operation by either third party automated programs or third party adware or spyware programs. |
