    GoldenCAN Merchant Status Update
    email received today:

    GoldenCAN Merchant Status Update

    Dear xxxxx,

You have received this email because one or more of the merchants you are using at GoldenCAN has recently been temporarily deactivated.

The merchants you are using at GoldenCAN which have been temporarily deactivated are listed in the Deactivated Merchants Report at the following URL.

    http://www dot goldencan dot com/manage/deactivatedmerchants.xxxxx

You are encouraged to check this Web page on a regular basis for the most up-to-date information. This report is available in your account at GoldenCAN. Login to your account at GoldenCAN, click on merchants in the top navigation and you will find a link of "Deactivated Merchants" on the top right corner.

Any store, coupon or search integration for a deactivated merchant will not work. Please replace these integrations with active merchants.

If a deactivated merchant decides to reactivate their program on GoldenCAN; your store, coupon or search integration for that merchant will be activated automatically.

    Thank you,
    http://www dot GoldenCAN dot com
I don't recall receiving one of these from GC before, but they're taking a page out of CJ's book: Why can't they NAME the merchant that is kaput?

I'm more interested in how we're supposed to find this information. Apparently a merchant is sometimes dropped for a billing problem. It could be fixed within days. CJ neglects to inform us.

    Hi,
In the past when a merchant was deactivated, we used to send a dedicated email for that merchant.

This was first email of its kind when multiple merchants were deactivated within a short period of time. We did not want to send multiple emails at the same time which is why one email was sent to the user who was using any one of the deactivated merchant.

If a deactivated merchant is activated again we are planning to send an email to existing users about the activation.

We will look into this and plan to send the names of the deactivated merchants in the email next time.

Thanks for responding and for your well-reasoned decision to provide this info.

How about keep a running thread here? And then Asif can edit it, keep it current as some come back online and such.
