    Question Suggestions Re ShareASale Widgets
    Brian,

Is there any way to have the "keyword search" function in the widgets section (for affiliates) search the names of the widgets for keywords? Right now it looks like it's searching in merchant names.

    Thanks,

    Geno

Sfcom has a point here too.

Additionally, it looks like right now widgets do not display product lists in the order that were entered. I.e. whatever order you have those SKUs listed in, the products appear in the same way (noticed that while putting together widgets with lists of bestsellers yesterday).

Also, since there are are already 3 suggestions re ShareASale's widgets in this thread, I have decided to rename the thread.

    Thanks.

Is there any way merchants could have a way of putting product name and description above (or under) images?

Right now it looks like this is the default way to do it:

Based on Mr Sal's and mayfly's questions and suggestions in this thread, I am wondering if any alterations of the default widget layout could be made possible.

    Thanks.

I don't know if SAS has any restrictions on how can you as a merchant can make your own widgets, but normally all you have to do is add an enter or a
after the end of the line you're working on.

    Like:

    Or...

Unfortunately I have no way of working in HTML on my widgets, Sal. It's all set up so that every widget is put together through a ShareASale interface where I just pick what I want to be included in each tab.

    WE DEMAND ANSWERS! lol.

Just kidding Brian. I read earlier that there were a few technical issues you were attending to over the past few days. When you get a chance to chime in, be sure to do so.

    Geno,

Yes, you can use the "Free HTML" feature which allows you pretty good freedom in designing a tab the way you would like.

Yup, I just started playing with free html feature, you can do amazing things with it Even with a merchant that doesn't have a datafeed!

(to use the built in templates the merchant needs to have a datafeed that you pull the item numbers from.)

Where exactly do I find this feature?

    Thanks.

Click on the tab selection and it is the bottom choice. You can use the same tags you use in a newsletter.

Still don't see it. From what you're saying it sounds like it's a part of the Make A Widget tool where I need to "click on the tab selection"? I have tabs "Basic Settings", "Manage Tabs", and then the tabs corresponding to each of the widget's tabs. Don't see anything saying "Free HTML" under any of these... Or am I looking in the wrong places?

Ok. So the answer is: Choose it from "Tab Template" drop-down menu of the tab you want to edit in HTML.

Would "Free HTML" be the only solution for this issue too, Brian?

    Thank you.

Yes - on a new tab, you choose initially whether you want it to be a product list, deal list, or a Free HTML where you can do pretty much whatever you want.

On the order of products, right now HTML is the only solution if the order of those products is critical to your widget, etc... I've seen some pretty cool widgets with the Free HTML being used so I think it should fit whatever needs you have.

Thank you, Brian. Will keep playing with it.

Any chance to make widgets searchable by widget name (and/or size/width maybe)?

Since I haven't received an answer on this yet, please take a look and let me know your thoughts Brian (or someone else from SAS)
